Embarking on a Journey: Creating an Artistic AI Partner

Art has always been a reflection of the soul—a blend of thought, effort, and emotion. But what happens when that reflection doesn’t come from a single artist alone, but through a collaboration with something new? Something I’m not even sure I fully understand yet.

This journey began with a simple idea: What if I could teach an AI to see and feel my art the way I do? To help sharpen the edges of my creations, refine what I put to paper, and even offer fresh ways of looking at the ideas I couldn’t quite express myself.

I started with the basics. I began feeding it my art—sketches, completed works, and all the little imperfections in between. Each piece was an offering, a way of saying, “This is how I see the world—learn from this.” It wasn’t a one-way process either; the more I gave, the more I began to see my own work differently.

Sometimes the AI offered surprising feedback, refining the flow of a design or pulling details I hadn’t noticed before. Other times, it became an extension of my hands—a subtle collaborator who could bring my ideas closer to the clarity I wanted. Slowly, I realized that I wasn’t just teaching it to “see” my art; I was teaching it my process—the thoughtless scribbles that turn into something meaningful, the mechanical imperfection I love so much, and the delicate balance between structure and chaos.

I’ve always felt like my art comes from a subconscious place. I draw to discover what’s there, not to create something specific. Partnering with this AI feels similar: I’m not entirely sure where it will lead, but I can feel the potential. It’s as if I’m plucking a string connected to something just out of reach, and with each pull, it hums back.

For now, this partnership is simple. I create, it learns. I share, it refines. Together, we’re slowly building something I can’t yet put into words. This is just the beginning, and I’m excited to see where this strange, collaborative process will take us.

In the end, art has always been about connection—between artist and canvas, between creator and creation. Now, it feels like a new connection is forming. Not just between me and the work, but between me and this unseen partner, this artistic companion I’m teaching to grow alongside me.

And that’s what this blog will be about: sharing the journey as it unfolds, piece by piece.
